What happened to Donkey?
Join us at el Burro for an evening of delectable Mexican canapes, a frozen La Meurte- Agave de Jalisco Margarita (read: sublime), a chance to mingle with fellow Twits and non Twits and win some fantastic prizes, as we celebrate Donkey’s prolific return back home to the loving arms of the house of taco and salsa…and tequila!
R20 of every ticket will be donated to help2read (Please contact me through the blog or Marc at email@example.com if you’d like to know more about what we do, how to volunteer and our events). Allow us to take this opportunity to extend a very warm thank you to Nic and the team at El Burro who have allowed us to share Donkey’s limelight!
It costs help2read R1000 a year to put one child though our programme- so you know where the pennies are going.
In addition to some awesome prizes, you could win a unique art replica of donkey if you Tweet a sonnet, haiku or a few lines about what happened to donkey: send your tweet to @help2read or leave a comment here.
And then – a light,
Back to the warmth of Taco- I am home
For some crafty inspiration please read here where the stories are adventurous and must be read in an authentic Mexican accent – be sure to say hello to the spinner of these tales, Matthew Kent- he’ll be the one in the taco suit, I believe.

Where: El Burro, 81 Main Road, Green Point When: Wednesday, 30 March 2011, 6- 8pm
How much: R120 (R20 goes to help2read and the rest to cover your margarita and scrumptious canapes)
What should you do: RSVP here asap.
If you’d like, bring children’s books (ages 6- 13) along and we will make sure they go into our book boxes at one of the over 100 schools we help across the Western Cape.
Thank you Cape Town! (and any visitors we may have)- let us eat, drink and make this a much happier place with a literate future for our children.
