Christina and her prize

Hello all!
I trust you’re excited about this New Year and from the tweets and blog posts I’ve read, I gather most of us are back in the swing of things and grinding away. I sincerely hope that this is going to be an awesome year for all of us…and for the parts that aren’t so cherry-filled, that we face it with courage and fortitude.

Foodandthefabulous has recently turned 4 whole months! I’m thrilled with the the new-look, launched 24 December 2010, and for that I have Tenacity Works to thank- they inserted my Julia Child dreams into their think tank and pulled this out! Do give them a shout out.

My year that was

I had a fantastic 2010. Some of my highlights include: joining help2read’s fund raising committee (if you’re in Cape Town this September/October I hope you’ll be joining us at our annual fund raising dinner), visiting New York*, Ireland, Livingston (I cooked crocodile curry with the Chef- do check it out) and Victoria Falls* for the first time, contributing towards a vegetable garden in small village in Livingston and ending the year at a gourmet hideaway * in the Natal Midlands, and finishing off with Mother’s home-style food over the New Year.
A lot of delicious food was devoured this year!
*food experience posts still to follow
This baby blog, sharing my recipes and dining experiences as well as connecting with many (and actually meeting some) of you fantastic foodbloggers, chefs, cooks and Twits has also made the list. Thank you for your conversation, sharing ideas and all the support! I really appreciate it.

Delivery

If you live in Cape Town, I will arrange for you to pick the box up or we can meet at a spot convenient to both of us.
If you live elsewhere in the country, I will post it via normal delivery at my cost. Should you want special delivery, this will be at your cost.
If you live outside the country, the same as above will apply.

Post Script

It was brought to my attention that 2010 was the year of the Football World Cup (and I did attend many matches- 8 in total I think), as well as my brother and only sibling’s wedding. I figure these two events cancelled each other out because they were in the same month and both were big, bright and made my heart swell with pride.
I sincerely hope I’m out of the dog box now 😉
