I was invited to meet the new pastry chef Andrea Leechi, owner and executive chef Gorgio Navas' newest addition to the team and hear first hand what the new plans are for the cafe.

I guess if I was infinitely cooler and far more worldly, I'd have been able to resist the aching temptation to make the opening picture one of myself with Senor Adria. Alas, despite attempts at nonchalance, I'm not. I had the incredible (and unexpected) opportunity of meeting Ferran Adria just over a month to date, at his wildly acclaimed tapas bar Tickets, in the theatre district of Barcelona. Last night, a group of 51 Twits and their plus ones, braved the Cape Town rain to attend a celebration ofthe return of el Burro's Donkey Chido (read about what could possibly have happened to donkey here and here). Nic, the owner, very generously decided to donate any profits of the night to help2read, a local NPO assisting disadvantaged children in primary schools with literacy.
